READING – Where Dreams Were Born by Elisabeth Henry
September 3 @ 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Maude Adams is a star. Known as the most famous and highest-paid actress of her time, Maude is incredibly beautiful and immensely popular. But stars burn out. Maude, now turning 32, faces what will not yield to charm or success: age. Then, along comes Sir James Barrie, desperate to see “the work of his heart” mounted on stage. But a fairy tale? “Oh, no!” Says Maude. “I must do Shakespeare!” But she spends a bit of time in the forest with Mark Twain and soon discovers that even though she will not get what she wants, she will get what she, and the world (ever since!) needs.
